Cyprus Culture Exam Results

Cyprus Culture Exam results are published by the Examination Service of the Ministry of Education, usually 3–4 weeks after the exam date. Results for the summer sitting on 4 July 2026 are expected in late July 2026. They are posted on the Examination Service website by candidate number, and successful candidates collect their certificate in person at the Examination Service office on a scheduled day.

When 2026 results are released

Sitting When results come
7 March 2026 (spring) Published 20 May 2026 — check your result
4 July 2026 (summer) Expected late July 2026

The exact publication date is not announced in advance. Use the "3–4 weeks after the exam" window and check the Examination Service site.

How results are delivered

Results appear on the Examination Service website (moec.gov.cy/ypexams) as a list by candidate number — names are not published. Your candidate number is in the email with your exam venue and time (sent a few days before the exam), so keep that email.

There is usually no separate result email — you check the site yourself. Successful candidates collect the certificate in person at the Examination Service office, on a schedule published together with the results (see below).

Pass marks

It is one exam, but the pass mark depends on why you are taking it:

Purpose Pass mark
Long-term resident (PR) ≥ 50%
Naturalization (citizenship) ≥ 60%

More on the two paths in PR vs citizenship: exam requirements.

How, when and where to get the certificate

The certificate is collected in person at the Examination Service office — it is not posted to you. Together with the results, the Examination Service publishes a collection schedule: each band of candidate numbers is given its own day and time slot. You must come on your assigned day — certificates are not handed out on other dates.

  • Where: the offices of the Examination Service (Υπηρεσία Εξετάσεων), address: Megaron 23 (Μεγάρων 23), 2032 Strovolos – Nicosia, Room 3, ground floor.
  • When: on the day and time for your candidate-number band per the official schedule. For the 7 March 2026 sitting, collection ran 25 May – 2 June 2026.
  • What to bring: your ID card, passport or original ARC — the same document you registered as your ID for the exam (a copy of that document is accepted). And know your candidate number — without it collection is slow.

Collection by an authorised person. Someone else can collect your certificate if they bring the authorisation form filled in and signed by you (attached to the announcement) plus their own ID document (the one named on the authorisation form).

The schedule and exact address are published with the results each time — check the official Examination Service announcement before you go.

What the certificate looks like and how to use it

The certificate confirms you passed the examination for sufficient knowledge of the basic elements of the contemporary political and social reality of Cyprus. It is valid indefinitely and is attached to your application:

  • for PR (long-term resident status) — a certificate with a result of ≥ 50% is enough;
  • for citizenship (naturalization) — you need a certificate with ≥ 60% plus a separate Greek language certificate.

Submit the certificate with the rest of your file to the Civil Registry and Migration Department.

Failed — when you can retake

If you did not reach the required percentage, you can retake the exam at one of the next sittings — it is held twice a year (spring, February–March, and summer, July). There is no limit on attempts; you re-register and pay the €20 fee for each sitting. While you wait for the next sitting, it is worth building up vocabulary and working through past-exam questions — there is a plan in How to prepare for the exam.

The Hallouminati app and bot make retake prep easy: exam vocabulary and past-exam questions in one place.
