Frequently asked questions

Is the payment on JCC the registration itself?

Yes, payment on JCC is full registration for the exam. You do not need to register anywhere else. After payment just wait for the email with details.

I didn’t receive confirmation after payment. Is that normal?

Yes, that’s normal. The email with your candidate number, exam place and time comes later — usually a few days before the exam.

How much time is needed to prepare?

It depends on your level of Greek. With level A1+ we recommend learning specific vocabulary and practicing answering questions from past exams — for example, in the Hallouminati bot or app.

How long does it take to get the results?

Usually results are published 3–4 weeks after the exam. For example, for an exam in early July — results at the end of July. You can collect the certificate a couple of weeks after that.

How long is the certificate valid?

The certificate is valid indefinitely.

Is it possible to pass without knowing Greek?

The exam is entirely in Greek. We know of cases when people passed with level A0 (they knew basic words and could read), but this is more a matter of luck. There is a lot of specific vocabulary in the exam — names of state bodies, historical terms, geographical objects. You definitely need to learn this vocabulary in advance.

How many people pass on the first attempt?

According to our surveys among users of the Hallouminati app — about 76% successfully passed at the level sufficient for obtaining citizenship (60%).

Where can I get study materials?

We recommend our guide at hallouminati.app/cyprus-guide — it contains all the necessary materials to prepare for the exam.
